I thought we had a great session this evening. For many of the participants I think it was perhaps a first encounter with voice chat or at least with video projection. It was certainly a chance to get to know each other better, and to gain a greater appreciation for the skills and talents we each bring into this seminar.

The first hour or more was spent at Tapped In making the most of that environment to roll play a samba school. The preparation the participants put into the event enhanced the experience for us all. The prize for preparation I think must be handed to the creators of the Samba School website, and throughout the chat, we enjoyed projections of urls bringing us the flavor, and even the music, of carnival from various countries.

At the end of the evening, while I was wrapping up on the two computers in my office, I was forced to leave the Tapped In chat, but was very pleased to find when I went to shut down that computer that someone had projected this url:

Thanks everyone who participated. There are many who come to these events feeling I think that the technology may be over their heads, but they usually find that it's not only doable but fun. Webheads in Action: Reactions

Thanks to Teresa and Dafne for our great coperation creating a samba class homepage for todays terrific Webheads event. Hopefully, most of the participants had just half as much fun as I did:-) Costumes, masks, music and dance - and lots of drinks, too. Ridiculous? Maybe. Or just very playful. Did we learn anything? Yes, I am sure most of us did. And for those who felt confused: this IS confusing, and you get used to the fast pace of messages, in a non linear follow and many irrelevant smalltakl messages, mixed up with helpful troubleshooting and occasionally despair when technology constraints seem to make you feel stuck. Preparation

Today we had a lot of fun while preparing some homework and experimenting with getting fancy icons etc. I felt it was a good occasion to have Dafne and Teresa become more confident with Tapped In - Teresa has an exceptional homepage and I would love to learn more about her stringent hyperstructure. I think we all learned a lot (each within reach of our personal ZPD) about how to help and ask for help, to upload new pictures etc. The more I practise online mentoring, thev better i feel about it. - Susanne

Dafne is wearing a bodice embroidered in multicolour precious stones and spangles, with 3 great yellow and red feathers covering the bust to each side. The miniskirt, of the same material of the bodice, is united to this one with a shinning multicoloured-spangle braid. The suit is complemented with a fantasy hat formed by great yellow and red feathers that descend in cascade by the back. The hat s feathers are hold by a semicircular band that covers the hairline ending near the ears. Bands of sequins and beads are braided around the wrists and yellow feathers raise towards the elbow.
