Ying: Fabricio.. have you planned to study in Austraila?
fabricio: really John?
John: That's right, Fabricio.
John: Tuition is the amount of money you pay for each credit. Fees are on top of this.
Ying: I think every country have State University..
Michael: Whereas in Australia and UK tuition means learning - it has nothing to do with money.
fabricio: I'm trying to find somewhere to study TEFL with a low cost
John: Tuition in the University of Puerto Rico is $35.00 per credit, while in the private schools it is over $100.00 per credit.
Felix: I have the same wish Fabricio
Ying: Michael.. you mean it is free to study University in Australia and UK>
John: These are resident costs.
Michael: NO!!!
Felix: In Brazil we don't have to pay for any credit in a Public University

Ying: Do you have the same problem with me, fabricio?
fabricio: R U sure John???? Is everything / e / ? or / ae / ?
Michael: LOL
John: Well, it depends on the part of the US you are in, but in most of the Mid West, yes, I am sure /e/.
John: Or. more likely /E/.
fabricio: oh I see it now john
Michael: Keep the little woman in the kitchen I say!
John: So do Puerto Rican Students.
Ying: What's difference between /e/ and /E/?
Michael: smiles
Michael: (at maggi)
John: /e/ is a more tense sound than /E/ ( ray insead of red)
fabricio: no difference ying, e = E, but /ae/ is different to /e/
fabricio: John to you refer to the IPA?????
Michael: lol
John: Oh, but there is a difference between e and E e=ray, E=red.
fabricio: International Phonetic Alphabet?
John: Right, IPA.
fabricio: I thought that Ray was /ei/
fabricio: a Diphthong
John: Depends on the specific system.
fabricio: oh I see
John: I tried to pick a word out of my mind instead of looking for one.
John: Actually, Fabricio, you are right. /ei/ in English, /e/ in Spanish.
fabricio: have u hear of the Adrian Underhill Phonemic Chart???
fabricio: I love it
John: I lost my copy a while ago.
fabricio: very useful in the classroom
John: Well, since I teach writing instead of pronunciation...
fabricio has left
Ying: I am confused about the /e/ and /ei/
Ying: What's wrong with sleeping with grandpa.
John: It depends on how tense you make the sound, Ying. The ei ends with an /i/
Ying: the place of my tongue.
