The chat started with Maggi and Vance encountering on ICQ at about 11:00 GMT and then at around 11:45 GMT Maggi went to the Hear Me voice chat site, and Vance stood guard in Homestead text chat and the Palace. . There was no one else in the sites until about a quarter after noon GMT, when Ying Lan appeared in the Hear Me site and started talking to Maggi. Vance was busy working on a tutorial for how to get egroups passwords (http://www.netword.com/egroups_password) and so Ying Lan came to the Palace to get him. Here is that part of the conversation.

Ying-Lan: Hi VAnce.
Vance: Hi Ying Lan. Are you chatting with Maggi in Hearme?
Ying-Lan: Why do you stay here?
Ying-Lan: Yes...
Vance: I haven't launched Hearme yet. I'm ftp'ing some files.
Ying-Lan: Why don't you come hear me?
Ying-Lan: WHAT'S A PTIY!!
Vance: I got an error (what a pity)
Ying-Lan: Something wrong with your computer?
Vance: ok, be right there. No my computer is ok.
Ying-Lan: What a pity!!
Vance: That's it. Are you talking with Maggi now?
Vance: I think the ftp is going ok now. I had an error before. It's files for webheads.
Vance: actually I made the files for work, but we can use them for webheads.
Ying-Lan: sorry.. I was talking maggi...
Ying-Lan: Only three persons today...
Ying-Lan: I can make myself into two parts.
Ying-Lan: I can not make myself into two parts.
Vance: I don't want to open more connections, that's why I'm staying here.
Ying-Lan: Can you go to hear.me today?
Vance: Yes, just give me a minute. The ftp wasn't working because it wouldn't accept some file extensions. I'm sorting it out.

At this point, Vance was bumped from the Palace. So I went to Hear Me and joined Ying Lan and Maggi there, and after a while Michael showed up. The three of us talked and wondered where everyone was, and the conversation was so interesting that Michael and Ying Lan couldn't stay awake so they both excused themselves and went to off to sleep. Then at around 13:00 GMT Maggie appeared on ICQ and told us she had just that day got a computer she and her family had assembled from parts, and so she hadn't had a chance to download programs yet and couldn't meet us anywhere but in ICQ. Sorsah appeared at Hear Me just a little later and we tried to get Sorsah and Maggie together, but it was impossible. Maggie couldn't reach Hear Me or Homestead because her internet connection was so bad, and Sorsah hadn't downloaded the Palace and didn't have ICQ. They had no common chat program, so Vance and Maggi talked to Sorsah in voice chat and to Maggie on ICQ, and at 14:00 GMT Vance decided it was time for him to go home from work, and that's all I am able to record.
