May and I had often talked about how to rent to bike to sightsee.

Then, here we were. It was very exciting to have the bike trip.

The day before, when we had arrived there, it had been too dark to see the beautiful views. I could not believe my eyes. It was worth it to biking there.

There was one song playing in by my heart over and over again.

I told this to May and we discussed about the singers and songs from our teen-age years.

I am too old to know anything about the new songs and stars.

We found we loved to listen to the same songs and music.

We have the same taste in Music.

We sang all the way.

We had got to know each other much better than at the beginning of the journey.

Good mountains, good rivers, nice sky with the right persons.

What a nice day!

Actually, we did not go to town to find Emiko.

We just rode the bikes along the road.

It was too far to get there. We gave up and returned to Aina¡¦s house.

There, we saw grandpa killing fishes and cleaning them.

Grandpa spoke some words, I did not understand what the words meant. May told me these fishes would be our dinner that night. She communicated with Grandpa by some mutual understanding. I guessed.

Aina and Emiko had came back one hour before.

¡§What do you want to buy?¡¨ Aina asked me.

¡§Food, we want to buy some food to eat on the boat.¡¨

¡§You can buy food from me. I have some extra food for you.¡¨

That¡¦s wonderful. Kind Aina! There was no supermarket at the small fishing village. Food would be precious there.

I paid 85 kroner for 12 eggs, one and half loaf of bread, one box of crackers and 3 bottles of milk.

¡§I will give you a ride from here to the ferry port tomorrow morning. But I want to collect a fee of 80 kroner.¡¨ It was a good deal and helpful.

While I was making the deal with Aina, Emiko and May were having fun with the children.

It was time to go to Nordkap. We asked Aina whether the children would go to Nordkap with us or not. Aina gave me a pass card for the children and 50 kroner. ¡§Buy the children some ice cream.¡¨ Aina said.

The children were naughty. Their names were Mellet, Born, and Tore.

Emiko was a kindergarten teacher. She knew how to deal with wicked boys.

    Emiko / Petri

When we arrived at Nordkap, Petri let a lady on the bus. ¡§Do you speak English?¡¨ she said. ¡§Yes, we do.¡¨ Then she spoke fast¡K I understood what she meant. She just wanted to collect the admission. A ticket for one person was 135 kroner.

Everything requires money in Norway. Everything is very expensive too.

Before I asked how many U.S. dollars I would need to pay for the tickets, I showed the pass card and said ¡§This card is for the children. ¡§ As I was forming the words on my tongue, the lady¡¦s expression changed to a look of surprise.

¡§Where did you get the card?¡¨ she asked. ¡§The mother of the boys gave me the card.¡¨ The lady asked Tore the same thing in Norwegian. Finally, she shrugged her shoulders and got off the bus. We got a free pass. I had no idea about the conversation between Tore and the lady or about the local law. I decided to buy the boys some ice cream to thank them for the generous card.

I was getting to understand Petri¡¦s words. ¡§There is nothing in Nordkap.¡¨

Only strong wind, cloudy overcast sky and expensive souvenirs.

People came there just to prove to themselves that they had been in the northernmost town on the earth.

The certificate stating that one had been to Nordkap was also expensive.

We decided to send Postcards to ourselves from Nordkap instead.

Tore led us to basement to watch the 3-D film that introduced all views of Nordkap. That was the only one thing to enjoy in the Nordkap museum.

The weather was bad the whole day. We had just missed the beautiful sunshine in Nordkap. I should go there again in June. I hope so.

¡§We can go back to Aina¡¦s house one hour early. You can eat some fresh fish for your dinner. There will be no passengers. Believe me!¡¨ I asked Petri.

¡§No, I have to follow my time schedule.¡¨ Petri replied firmly.

¡§No way, he is an obstinate man. Emiko just gave him the same advice. ¡§

May said.

Petri was a good and honest bus driver.

It was hard to say ¡§good-by¡¨ to Petri.

We have no chance to meet each other in the future.

Petri was gone with his bus.   >>
