This worksheet explains how to create a shortcut on the desktop. The example given is for DOS Keyboarding Tutor.

  1. Open the location containing the target for your shortcut.
In this example, open the DOS Keyboarding Tutor on your C: drive
  2. RIGHT click on the target's icon
In this example, RIGHT click on KEYBRD.EXE
  3. While HOLDING DOWN the RIGHT mouse button, drag the shadow of the target to the desktop and drop it there.
  4. From the menu, select Create Shortcut(s) Here

You should get a screen that looks like this:

This shortcut will appear on your desk top each time you log in as the SAME USER on the SAME COMPUTER in the computer lab.

If your result looks like this you've done it wrong:

Why?

What should you do?

What if can't find KEYBRD.EXE in the DOS Keyboarding Tutor folder?

You can do the repair by replacing your corrupted C: drive folder with a good folder from WS0251 on PI-AC-AE. Drag the good folder onto the bad one and click Yes.
