First Aid For Factures

What Can We Do When Someone Broke His Leg?

By Mohamed Qaed 276, Student in the PI

What is the topic of my project and why have I chosen this topic?

Before we can touch a person who had been injured and break his leg we should follow careful steps to help him. This is a project to examine and compare Internet web sites dealing with the First Aid for factures. I have selected sites that present some steps that we should do when someone break his leg and things we shouldn’t do. From these sites I learned what we should do to help someone with broken leg. Finally I evaluate these sites from the best to the worst.

Here are some web pages that are relevant to my topic:

Medical Encyclopedia – Broken Bone
By: Jacqueline A. Hart, M.D.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000001.htm
Rating: 92 (Excellent site and very useful).

This site is a Very Useful site and have all the information u need to know about Factures and how to deal with someone who had a broken leg or bone. It also have many links to additional information. The Site is documented with many refrences. The informations seems to be trusted. This page appeared first in a google search, Which shows that many other have used this site. The last update for this site was on 8/7/2003 which is not very far.

AllRefer Health – Broken bone
By: Jacqueline A. Hart, M.D.
http://health.allrefer.com/health/fracture-info.html
Rating: 86 (Excellent site but its not well analyzed).

This site is also a very good one by the same author who made the first site but its not well analyzed. It has many good of graphs. It is up-to-date and have many useful links.

It is organized as:

Standard First Aid Course
The Virtual Naval Hospital Project
http://www.vnh.org/StandardFirstAid/chapter6.html
Rating: 80 (Good site but there is no date or name of the writer).

This site is a very good site too, it have many pictures and many information about different types of injuries. It talks about the factures and how to deal with a broken leg. The author in this site is not written and u can't contact him also the date is not written so I don't know if this site is up-to-date or not but the information seems accurate.

It says that the reference of this site is (NAVEDTRA 10669-C, Hospital Corpsman 3 & 2).

Walgreens.com – broken bone
Walgreen Co.
http://www.walgreens.com/library/firstaid/Fractures.jhtml
Rating: 71 (Good site but there are no graphs and doesn’t explain in more details).

This another good site that have most of the information you need to know. The information seems accurate But the author is not written. But this site soesn't explain as much as the first 3 sites. Beside there's no graphs or references. There are few related links and the last update was on January 29, 2001, so its not up-to-date.

The wink - First Aid
Walgreen Co.
http://www.the-wink.com/firstaid.htm
Rating: 58 (Got very few info and have no date, name of the Author or references).

This site is talking about the First Aid in general. It has a very short articles and doesn't explain in more details. Beside you can't find the Author name and can't contact him, you also can't find a date, references or links, you also can't find all the information you need. The information doesn't seems accurate and it is very short. There are some graphs but they are not very useful.

Conclusion:

All of these sites have good steps about what to do and what you shouldn’t do. The first 3 sites on the table explain every thing in details but the other 2 sites doesn’t explain much. So I would suggest using the first 3 sites because it have more details you will need to know to help someone with a broken leg.
