- Jan 31, 2005 Recording: "RSS: The New Killer App for Educators" with
Will Richardson by Will Richardson This live session hosted inside the
Webheads "Member Office" in LearningTimes.org was part of a six-week online
workshop in the use of weblogs in English Language Teaching. The overall
workshop -- entitled "Using Weblogs in ESL/EFL Classes: New Developments, Uses,
and Challenges" -- targets teachers with some Internet skills who are
interested in using "blogs" (or web logs) with their classes or as a reflective
tool. This particular session was led by Will Richardson, who maintains
Weblogg-ed. Will refers to himself as a "blogvangelist" and is Supervisor of
Instructional Technology and Communications at Hunterdon Central Regional High
School in Flemington, New Jersey. According to Will, the Weblogg-ed site is
"dedicated to discussions and reflections on the use of Weblogs, wikis, RSS,
and other Internet-related technologies in the K-12 classroom". Will is also a
founding contributer to the Ed Tech Insider Weblog at eSchool News.

Joel Fath. How can the web and the internet be used to build communities,
support social justice, and move a little closer to world peace? New tools and
online resources can help, from the smallest team project within a single
course to international programs addressing almost overwhelming challenges. The
presenters demonstrated how session participants can take part in this
exploration, including taking modest but significant next steps almost
immediately.
